about

“One of my favourite tracks from the 'Scally' sessions, this didn't make the original vinyl so I'm glad it's finally got a new lease of life on the (forthcoming) Extended version of the album.

The song is inspired by one of life’s age-old mysteries A.K.A.‘LOVE’. Navigating the stormy waters of matters of the heart can be a tricky task, but appreciating the similarities & respecting the differences in a relationship will certainly stand you in good stead.

That’s the sentiment I wanted to get across.”

-Matt

lyrics

STEP INTO MY HEART
Nothing makes much sense
And there’s no reason
I can’t make it stop, I’ll blame myself
I’ve got a picture of you
In my mind it’s never leaving me
There’s no point in acting the loud mouth

Because
Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings, I don’t think so
Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings, please don’t let go

There’s no place to hide
I get the feeling
Of emptiness when crippled by your lust
And even if you’re getting
So much older now
Christ I’m crucified, God rest my trust

Because
Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings I don’t think so
Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings please don’t let go

You think you’re sure
But you don’t know it at all
A revelations coming over me
You lie awake
How much more can you take
So come closer distant memory

Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings, I don’t think so
Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings, please don’t let go

Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings, I don’t think so
Time changes
Step into my heart
You’re pulling my strings
Please don’t go
